IMAGE REPUBLIC PAULO MARIOTTI TUNIS POSTER 40x50cm
TUNIS
Collection: Paulo Mariotti
This drawing by Paulo Mariotti represents the courtyard of the Dar Al Kamila Palace, which in 1950 was the official villa of the Consul of France in Tunis, in the Marsa district. It was offered to France by the Bey of Tunis in 1857. Today Residence of the Ambassador of France, the house and the garden combine all the riches and beauties of Hispano-Maghreb architecture. In his design, Mariotti freely opens the garden of the Residence onto the sea, the better to play with the perspective of the arches and columns, and to combine the blue and white of the walls with those of the sky and the clouds.
